Ricki's Amazing Bead Art

Ida, Angie, April, Sarah, Ricki, and Kathy
Many folks don't realize that our Cheese Queen is an artist (see previous article).

She has worked with all kinds of media, but in the last few years, she has been making mosaics from stones, glass beads, jewelry, pieces of mirror and mardi gras beads.

This winter, she has been holed up in her basement for days at a time, creating a masterpiece in a newly installed bathroom.

It's difficult to discern from the pictures exactly what is what, but basically, the entire room and shower is covered with Ricki's fabulous designs (and, it isn't done yet!)  She applied everything with a hot glue gun.

The room is not quite finished, but several members of our staff visited the scene after having a pre-wedding celebration for Jeri (who was wed later that week on Valentine's Day in Las Vegas).  We were in a party kind of mood, so that explains some of these pictures!

  1. What a FABULOUS space! Your artistic brain cells must work overtime in the cold. YOU GO GIRL! I love the Moosletter and wait for its delivery every month. Still trying to muster the courage to make my first batch of cheese...beyond yogurt "cheese." Thanks for all the fun!!!

  2. That is the most incredible, beautiful bathroom project I've ever seen! I've recently begun making jewelry (mostly buying beads☺️) & now you've given me a new idea to use my gems! I know it helps keep you happy. Watch out or the kitchen might be next...
And congratulations Jeri! May you have a long & happy marriage.

  5. Anybody (but really only Ricki) who can go to their breast cancer doc with a bullseye painted on their breast is an artist!
