It worked and my family doc had me take lab tests which indicated what I had was Costridium difficle an antibiotic resistant horror that can't be killed with the normal hospital disinfectants alcohol, phisohex, iodine compounds but ordinary soap and water works. Now I am to take Culturelle, a probiotic of Lactobacillus GG 15 billion cells daily because research shows it has some success in preventing a relapse of that terrible diarrhea. Lately I've been adding two capsules of Culturelle with my Y5 yogurt starter, use a cup of the remainder as starter for two more rounds. I don't know if the Culturelle is reproducing and my question is what do your manufacturers think of this? Are they considering a Lactobacillus GG Yogurt since this C. Difficile is reaching epidemic proportions ?Thank you, IvanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7373525592618391216.post-45314310296522548762010-06-15T09:24:24.713-04:002010-06-15T09:24:24.713-04:00Lori- I totally agree with you about the sauerkrau...Lori- I totally agree with you about the sauerkraut. I am trying to eat a raw diet myself. I think you may be confused about the yogurt cultures. Cultures (which we sell) consist of raw bacteria. You can use them to make raw yogurt (from raw milk, of course) but the yogurt will not be thick. The way to make yogurt thick and creamy is to heat the milk to 180F, cool it down to room temp and add the culture.Jerihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16311158553860253920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7373525592618391216.post-8296482345420245682010-06-15T07:38:30.161-04:002010-06-15T07:38:30.161-04:00I feel that it is important to mention that even t...I feel that it is important to mention that even though sauerkraut is a great source of probiotics, the kind you find in most grocery stores has been pasteurized, so the bacteria has been killed. You must eat raw sauerkraut. Is the Y5 yogurt you advertised pasteurized as well?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15636506479859574741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7373525592618391216.post-46844168164190856802010-04-15T18:25:20.069-04:002010-04-15T18:25:20.069-04:00GREAT article, thanks!
