I have kept the "culture" as we call it - going ever since. When I am going to be away from home I simply place the culture in a little milk to cover and freeze it. When I return I take it out and re-generate it. If we get tired of drinking it I simply do the same thing. My mother originally bought a culture in Zambia, in the 1960s and gave me a piece of it. The drink is useful for all kinds of acne as it is rich in all vitaminbs. I would not be without my culture, we drink it every day. It is also useful for ladies who have an 'itch' (infection) "down there" a cotton wool ball dipped into the product every few hours works wonders without having to resort to medication.cherrillnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7373525592618391216.post-74008591954707854552012-12-02T19:56:03.486-05:002012-12-02T19:56:03.486-05:00Does the same thing work for water kefir grains?Does the same thing work for water kefir grains?Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15653900346732224434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7373525592618391216.post-6628944708839781912011-12-15T12:58:09.267-05:002011-12-15T12:58:09.267-05:00For shipment within the United States or when the ...For shipment within the United States or when the transit time will be only 2-3 days and temperatures will not exceed about 90 degrees F, the grains can be placed in a plastic bottle with the standard 3:1 fresh milk - kefir mixture. Fill the bottle about 3/4 full. Squeeze out as much of the air as possible to allow the kefir to outgas without bursting the bottle. Tightly cap the bottle. When the kefir arrives at its destination the kefir will be quite ripe (sour) with a good development of whey. Simply add this as the starter for a large batch of kefir.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
